Foundation for Madison Public Schools
This year Spring Harbor Middle School had $4,051 in endowment income available to use to make grants for imaginative programs and projects that propel student learning which can’t currently be funded through the core school budget.
Our grants committee decided to fund the following projects using the available endowment income:
$300 Funds will be used in support of T.E.A.M (Together Everyone Achieves More), a school service club. The club researches different social justice topics and volunteer at non-profit organizations related to the monthly topic selected.
$1,400 Funds will be used to purchase technology necessary to support the teaching of spoken word in language arts class, drama class, and an after-school club.
$1,000 Funds will be used to enable the library media specialist to enhance the use of technology in the library while also helping to provide teachers with support in using technology to innovate instructional practices.
$1,351 Funds will be used to enhance the outdoor classroom. Students will be help to build a permanent pergola structure and permanent benches to host classes outside.
